How to update a resource (PDF, ect.) on Moodle

Throughout the year, you might find it necessary to update your course material due to corrections, additions, or rewording. In this guide, we provide detailed instructions on how to seamlessly update these resources on Moodle without causing any desynchronization with your students' notes.

⚠️ Warning: please do not delete directly a resource from Moodle. Otherwise, it would desynchronize the students' notes with this course material.

Updating a File Resource

Follow these easy steps to update a file resource:

  1. Log in to Moodle: Access your Learning Management System (LMS) and log in.
  2. Navigate to the Course: Locate and select the course that contains the file you intend to update.
  3. Enable Editing Mode: To make changes, you need to toggle the editing mode on.

  5. Update File: In the 'General > Select files' section, click on the existing file that you want to update.
  6. Delete the Current File: Remove the old file.
  7. Add the Updated File: Click on 'Add a file' or use the 'drag & drop' feature to upload the new version of the file.
  8. Save Changes: Once you have uploaded the updated file, click on 'Save and return to the course' at the bottom of the page to save your changes and return to your course overview.
